Meet The Team
Dr. Christi Luke is a Durham based veterinarian with a passion for helping animals live their best lives and preserving the human-animal bond. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine and studied veterinary acupuncture at Chi University in Reddick, Florida.
Dr. Luke founded Shen Bright Mobile Veterinary Services so that she could support her passion by offering the benefits Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine directly to patients at their homes. Through acupuncture, herbal, and food therapies, Dr. Luke is able to offer treatment plans for those searching for alternatives to Western Medicine. She is also able to work with your veterinarian to provide integrative therapies, thereby offering patients and clients the best of what Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and Western Medicine have to offer. Either way, Dr. Luke always prioritizes the well-being of her patients and the wishes of her clients.
When not working, Dr. Luke prefers to spend time with her husband, son, dog (Brick), cats (Korra and Crouton), and horse (Jake). She is a fan of hiking, riding horses, and exploring the outdoors with her family. They are often joined by Brick and Crouton during these outdoor adventures!
“Animals enrich our lives and make us whole. They enable us to be the best versions of ourselves. I want to honor those animals by helping them achieve and maintain inner harmony to help them be the best version of themselves.”
How We Work
-
Many pets and horses experience health and behavioral problems that have been unsuccessfully managed through Western Medicine alone. Dr. Luke offers an alternative approach using Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), a system of medicine that has been around for thousands of years. TCVM focuses on the individual as a whole and attempts to bring balance to the body to help itself heal. Depending on the condition, TCVM can be used alone or in combination with western therapies to help your pet or horse.

Dr. Luke recognized that many pets and horses experience significant stress when visiting traditional veterinary clinics. By bringing her services directly to your home or farm, she can provide the same high-quality care in an environment where your animals feel safe and comfortable. This approach often leads to better diagnostic insights and more effective treatments.
